Verde Margarita
Verde Margarita
//
Verde Margarita is a type of margarita that uses Patrón Silver Tequila, Patrón Citronge Triple Sec, St Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Fino Dry Sherry Wine, Fresh Lime Juice, and Agave Syrup (1:1). The ""verde"" in the name refers to the green color of the drink. The Patrón Silver Tequila gives the drink a smooth, smoky flavor, while the St Germain Elderflower Liqueur adds a floral sweetness. The Fino Dry Sherry Wine provides a dry, nutty taste, and the fresh lime juice gives the drink a tart, citrusy flavor. The agave syrup (1:1) balances out the sweetness of the elderflower liqueur and the tartness of the lime juice. The history of the Verde Margarita is unclear, but it is believed to have originated in Mexico. The first recorded recipe for the drink was published in 1971 by Carlos Herrera in his book The Margarita: How to Mix It. Since then, the Verde Margarita has become a popular choice for people around the world.
