The Joker

The Barsys Edge

Indian hosts are famous for their “large” pegs. It comes from a good place, but it means rum and cola often swings from watery to far too strong within one evening, depending on who’s holding the bottle.

With Barsys, the measure is set once and repeated exactly. Your guests get a drink that tastes good and feels right, every round, without anyone having to keep an eye on the pour.

The Joker

Sip Setting

The middle of the night, when the game gets serious. Snacks are half finished, someone is on a winning streak, and everyone wants a refill without breaking their focus. That’s when The Joker shines.

The Joker

Garnish Game

Squeeze the lemon wedge over the drink, then drop it in. It adds a fresh citrus smell and lets guests know there’s more than cola in the glass.

FAQs

Is The Joker the same as a Cuba Libre?

Very close. A Cuba Libre is rum, cola and lime. This version uses dark rum and lemon, which gives it a richer, slightly sweeter flavour.

Which rum is best for rum and coke?

Dark rum works best, since its caramel and vanilla notes pair beautifully with cola. Old Monk, Bacardi Black or any good dark rum will do.

How much cola should I add?

Around 120 ml is ideal for a highball glass. Use less for a stronger rum flavour, or more for a lighter, longer drink.

Can I use diet cola?

Yes. Diet or zero-sugar cola works well and makes the drink less sweet, letting the rum and lemon come through more clearly.
