The Monkey Gland is a cocktail that combines Gin, Absinthe, Orange Juice, and Grenadine Syrup. The drink gets its name from the early 1900s when it was popularized by Harry McElhone, the owner of Harry's New York Bar in Paris. The original recipe called for equal parts gin and absinthe, but over time the ratios have been adjusted to taste. Today, the Monkey Gland is typically made with two parts gin to one part absinthe, with just a splash of orange juice and grenadine syrup. Give the Monkey Gland a try!
